this was the exhortation from a message I listened to today on the drive to worship rehearsal.
Go near and hear all that the LORD our God will say and speak to us all that the LORD our God will speak to you, and we will hear and do it.’ (Deuteronomy 5:27 ESV)
I didn’t hear the exact reference, but unless this passage is repeated, than it was one just like this. I love that the people ask Moses to go near to God.
The pastor pointed out the imperative of a close walk with the Lord in order to minister effectively. He asked, Do you want to offer others cool refreshing water? Then you must dig deep into the well of Scripture.
As I pulled up to a stop light, I grabbed a pen and wrote those words on my hand. go near.
Draw closer. Go Near. Press into Him. Go deeper.
When we draw close to God, we become more like him, and our walk with Him should be evident to others, simply by the way we live.
