Here are my notes from Catalyst:

    • flourishing
    • grace: the power of God to do within us what we cannot do ourselves.
    • Thirsty: driven by unsatisfied desires.
    • Rivers of Living Water. life in the Spirit. Where there is water, there is life. vitality. fruitfulness. Gen. 2:10, Rev. 22:1-2.
    • Grace is unique to each individual.
    • God’s plan for me will not look like his plans for someone else.
    • grace. transformation. forgiveness.
    • don’t gauge spiritual maturity the way the pharisees did. it is handcrafted, not mass produced.
    • God made me
      • to be me.
      • FLOURISH. if offered to God. You will always be you.
      • Surrender. your will exists so it can be surrendered to God.
      • What does it mean to trust? Ask, Do you think Jesus is right? If so, do what he says.
  • Mark Driscoll
    • Ministry is just putting on the overalls and hardhat and working with my dad, doing whatever he asks me to do.
    • grace. empowering grace.  allows you to live the life God has created you for.
    • His grace is sufficient. Power made perfect in weakness.
    • All we can do is serve. God heals. We pray.
    • The power is in the gospel.
    • It’s in the only thing that sustains, it lasts.

  • Acts 2 Church. dig around the Why.
    • what they had:
    • the teachings of Jesus & Old Testament
    • they were eyewitnesses to the Resurrection
    • the power of the Holy Spirit.
  • what we have:
  • the teachings of Jesus, the Gospel, the Word of God
  • the power of the resurrection of Jesus Christ
  • the Power of the Holy Spirit
  • The tools we need.
  • Be confident in the Words of God.
  • Words of the LIVING GOD. confidence. TRUTH.
  • Isaiah 55:8-13
  • a sincere heart
  • the Word of God
  • God accomplishes His purposes through His Word. It never returns void.
  • God is SO patient with us. We are the Church of the Resurrection!
  • Effectual power of the Kingdom of God.
  • The Holy Spirit came and Peter preached – acts 2. POWER.
  • people all around us are dead and they need to know about the resurrection.
